A short drive from Mudgee is the colonial gold mining town of Gulgong. With 130 heritage listed buildings and Australia’s oldest Opera House, it’s certainly worth the 30-minute drive. Make sure you visit the museum which is home to one of the finest collections of Australiana in the country.
A visit to Mudgee Observatory is entertaining and educational for the whole family. The theatre and flat screen planetarium run several features on the night sky and the Sun as well as many programs on space missions.
“Beautiful, clean and friendly caravan park in a great location in Mudgee. Lovely hot showers. This park has a large common room, good camp kitchen and the grounds men are always working to provide clean sites and lots of handy advise. You have to make this a stopover when you are in Mudgee.”
