Kalaru Holiday Park is located five kilometres from Tathra Beach and less than 20 minutes to Bega and Merimbula - making it the most central park to all the attractions of the Sapphire Coast.

The Sapphire Coast is home to Australia's wilderness coast, halfway between Melbourne and Sydney and just 3 hours from Canberra. Immerse yourself in nature and explore our wild coastline, dotted with secluded beaches, pristine estuaries, native forests and ancient landscapes.

Whale Watching

Steeped in whaling history and unspoilt coastal wilderness, whale watching opportunities on the Sapphire Coast are abundant. You’ll find plenty of lookouts for whale sightings and passionate charter operators.

Bega

Bega is the country heart of the Sapphire Coast, surrounded by rolling green hills and rich pastures. The town is dotted with galleries, cafes and quirky shops, as well as the famous Bega Cheese Factory.

Mimosa Rocks National Park

Discover show-stopping headland views, beaches and pure lagoons. You'll be spoilt for choice with lookouts, rainforest pockets and historic sites to explore. There's opportunities for fishing, surfing and snorkelling.

The pet owner must contact Kalaru Holiday Park directly in advance of arrival to apply to have their pet accepted. Upon arrival it is the managers discretion as to accept the dog in the park.
Upon acceptance by the park manager the dog owner must then agree to and sign the standard pet policy agreement. A cash only bond of $50 will be required upon arrival. This bond is fully refunded at the end of our stay providing you have adhered to the above rules and leave your site in a habitable state and no time is required by the operators to clean up your pet’s wastes and or destruction (eg: filling up holes etc). Please also be aware that failure to adhere to these rules and you will be asked to leave the park immediately without refund or recourse.
Whilst Kalaru Holiday Park is dog friendly, no pets are allowed inside any of the cabins and the following must be adhered to at all times.
Evidence of pets without prior approval will give rise to a cleaning fee of $200 charged against your credit card or payable in cash at our option. Dogs must be leashed at all times whilst not in your van or tent or other accommodations. No exceptions. A leash must be no more than 2 metres in length. This includes no dog ‘runs’ to be set up.
The pet must be supervised at all times and never left unattended including inside a tent or van or other accommodations. For health and safety reasons dogs are not allowed in any common areas of the park including: cafe, pool area, games room, camp kitchen, amenities, playground, reception or any public areas.
For health and safety reasons pets must not be washed or cleaned in any park provided facilities. Additionally, any dog related accessories such dog blankets, etc should not be washed or cleaned in park owned machines or basins.
Dogs may only be walked in the designated areas of the park. Pet owners are 100% responsible for picking up and disposing of their dog’s or pet’s waste, in a sealed plastic bag and disposed of in rubbish bins. Pet owners are personally responsible, and will be held to be so, for any and all personal injuries and/or property damage or losses in relation to any actions by or because of their dog and agree to pay for any claims of compensation in relation to the pet’s activities. The pet owner must agree that the park owner/manager reserves the right to evict any guests or breach any resident whose pet is deemed noisy, disruptive, and aggressive or the subject of complaints from other guests. It is the pet owner’s responsibility and the dog owner’s alone to control and manage their pet. If in the view of the park management this has not happened to an acceptable level the owner and the pet may be evicted from the park, without prior warning, immediately at the manager’s discretion.

Unfortunately our facilities do not cater for those with accessibility needs, however, we are in the process of making our park more accessible to all of our patrons.

Yes, our guests are able to access free wifi throughout the park.

Our reception hours are 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday in low season. December hours are 9am – 5pm Monday to Saturday and high season hours are 9am – 5pm Monday to Sunday.

No problems! We understand that sometimes things don’t always go to plan. If you’ll be arriving after-hours, please contact our reception beforehand so that they can make arrangements for you.
