Home to the magical little penguins and the majestic southern right whale, this island is characterised by huge granite boulders tinged with orange lichen. Take a short stroll or horse tram ride over the wooden causeway that connects the mainland at Victor Harbor to Granite Island Recreation Park.
View the spectacular coast as you walk this easy self-guided trail. See Australia's first public railway and read the interpretive signs along one of the most beautiful beaches. You might see dolphins, whales and seals. Catch the Cockle Train from the station to go to Goolwa or Victor Harbor.
Pristine white sand and surf beach. This 18km stretch of beach starts at Middleton and runs all the way to the River Murray Mouth. Gather pipis or cockles (a mollusc) on the beach in summer and keep a lookout for Southern Right Whales in the winter months.

We love 4-legged friends at Victor Harbor Holiday and Cabin Park and we allow dogs to stay subject to terms and conditions. Approval is at the Manager’s discretion and must be sought at the time of booking. Pets are only permitted on sites, in guest’s own van or tent, or in our designated pet friendly cabins
